What the indicator shows
The site uses World Bank Pink Sheet monthly indicators for Arabica, Robusta and cocoa. They describe the market backdrop for a particular month. They are neither the current price of a specific lot nor a Grano Market quotation.
Observation month and check date
These dates answer different questions. The month identifies the period covered by the price. The check date identifies when the system contacted the source. Frequent checking does not turn a monthly series into real-time market data.
How change is calculated
The previous month’s value is subtracted from the latest value. Percentage change is that difference divided by the previous value, multiplied by 100. If the previous month is missing, change is not calculated. Missing data must not be replaced with a zero price.
Using it in a conversation
A chart helps frame a question about market movements. Commercial terms depend on the product, lot, volume, packaging and agreed delivery process. Discuss them with a manager, keeping a broad indicator separate from an offer for specific material.
